Welcome to Pealie’s Barn – a one-of-a-kind converted 18th century Barn now music venue nestled in the North Yorkshire countryside. Below you'll find answers to common questions about what we offer, how to find us, and what to expect. If you’re still wondering about owt, feel free to get in touch.
📅 When is Pealie’s Barn open?
We’re only open for events and private hires – we’re not open day-to-day (yet!). Check our Events page or head over to the Booking Form if you’re looking to hire the space.
🏕️ Can I camp there?
You can, but only on specified events. Think peaceful field camping – no hook-ups or fancy bits. Our main venue toilets are open throughout the night & there is a basic portaloo for emergencies. Vans & tents are welcome to camp but they’re in separate fields. Great for small groups, event guests, or folks who love a proper outdoorsy night under the stars. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a sensible adult at all times. Please find our camping policy for more deets.
🚽 What about toilets?
Yes – we’ve got clean loos on-site. No showers though, so bring your flannel if you’re camping!
🐶 Can I bring my dog?
Sorry, no dogs allowed on-site (even the lovely ones). We’re keeping it peaceful for wildlife and guests alike. However, there is a lovely dog friendly glamping site just at the bottom of the lane in Dalton Gates - https://myhappyhounds.uk/
🏢 What’s a CIC then?
We’re a Community Interest Company (CIC) – that means we exist to benefit the local community, not to turn a big profit. Every penny goes back into improving the space and supporting events that bring folk together.
♿ Is it accessible?
We’re doing our best to make Pealie’s Barn welcoming for everyone. The site is mostly flat, with step-free access across the main areas (though it’s still an old farm, so conditions can vary depending on the weather).
We do have an accessible toilet, which is always a bit of a work in progress. It’s not perfect yet, but we’re aware of what could be better and are working on improvements bit by bit. If you’ve got specific access needs, feel free to get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.
🛏️ Where can I stay nearby?
If you’re not camping, there are some cracking B&Bs, cottages and inns nearby.

FAQs
🍔 Is food available?
It depends on the event. At most of our ticketed events, we serve wood-fired pizzas, and our Jam Nights feature sourdough toasties (they go down a treat). You’ll also often find homemade sandwiches and other simple, tasty bites on offer.
We’re also working on a small kitchen space so we can expand what we offer in future.
For private hires, you’re welcome to bring your own caterers or we can recommend brilliant local food folk we’ve worked with before.
🧑🌾 Do you support local businesses?
Absolutely – it’s a big part of what we’re about. Our bar is heavily locally sourced, featuring drinks from nearby breweries & distilleries. We regularly work with local musicians, artists, and makers, and you'll often find local stalls at our events selling everything from crafts to fresh produce.
Whenever we can, we choose local – whether that’s food, entertainment, or materials for the site.
